InsiderAdvantage has learned that Governor Nathan Deal will head up a private fundraiser to be attended by GOP presumptive nominee Donald Trump later this month in Atlanta. Georgia Senator David Perdue will also headline the event, which will be the first fundraising effort for Trump’s presidential bid to be held in the state.
Governor Deal’s endorsement and active involvement in Georgia knocks down previous speculation on why he is not attending the GOP convention in Cleveland.
Deal’s active support is viewed as a big step for the Trump campaign in the state according to FOX 5 political analyst and retired InsiderAdvantage Chairman Matt Towery. He says that support from Deal will likely bring supporters of Marco Rubio and Jeb Bush over to the Trump team – thereby consolidating support from the state’s Republican leadership.
