Yesterday Atlanta Mayor Kasim Reed met with Black Lives Matters, Atlanta Is Ready and other militants who have been participating in recent street protests. He has been presented with a list of 25 demands, which led one City Hall insider to tell us they are “pretty radical.”
Atlanta Is Ready held a demonstration outside of the City Hall and declared that the list includes cutting funding for the police department and a re-direction to social services; changes to police training; a decrease in the presence of police officers in public schools and establishment of some sort of “citizens board” to hear police complaints. Also included: the Atlanta Police Department must stop training with trainers from the Jewish country of Israel.
