Low turnout ruled the day throughout the state for the July 26th runoff elections, not a surprise as the tickets were short and the day searing hot.

Former West Point Mayor Drew Ferguson will advance to a November U.S. House race against Democrat Angela Pendley, a vote where he will be heavily favored in deep red District 3.  Ferguson defeated Mike Crane by nearly 8 points in a contentious race that got especially heated during the dog days of Summer.  With big time endorsements for both candidates including the Georgia Chamber of Commerce for Ferguson and Texas Senator Ted Cruz for Crane, it was without a doubt the highest profile contest in the state.
