Despite its status as the capital city and center of a metro region with 5 million people, Atlanta can sometimes leave one wanting for parade festivities. For those who may have been to Savannah for St. Patrick’s Day, New Orleans for Mardi Gras or New York for Thanksgiving, Atlanta has little to compare. However, the DragonCon Parade over Labor Day Weekend is always interesting and probably Atlanta’s most well-attended parade, but there may be a challenger. Since 2010, the Atlanta Beltline has played host to the unique, night-time Lantern Parade.
