The State Bar of Georgia has proposed to resolve a longstanding complaint against the speaker of the Georgia House of Representatives with a minor letter of reprimand, according to a report filed yesterday with the State Bar’s disciplinary board. The special master in the case involving attorney and state Rep. David Ralston, R-Blue Ridge, says the lawmaker admitted that he had violated the Bar’s professional conduct rules by advancing funds to two individuals while litigation on their behalf was pending. But he notes the speaker’s exemplary record of public service must be taken into account. If this decision is ratified, Speaker Ralston is extremely fortunate not to be fined or even lose his law license. His boat boat will definitely be RISING…
