The State Bar of Georgia has proposed to resolve a longstanding complaint against the speaker of the Georgia House of Representatives with a minor letter of reprimand, according to a report filed yesterday with the State Bar’s disciplinary board. The special master in the case involving attorney and state Rep. David Ralston, R-Blue Ridge, says the lawmaker admitted that he had violated the Bar’s professional conduct rules by advancing funds to two individuals while litigation on their behalf was pending. But he notes the speaker’s exemplary record of public service must be taken into account. Proposed Fulton Co. property tax hike
Fulton County homeowners let out a collective groan Monday following the announcement that property taxes will be increasing by more than 12% over the rollback millage rate.
