Georgia State University this week announced their next steps for converting Turner Field into a new football stadium as well as some of their plans for the surrounding area. The school will take control of the stadium on December 31st of this year, and plans on getting it ready for football by the opening kickoff of 2017.

Starting with a capacity of 23,000, renovations will continue as time goes on, expanding seating eventually to about 33,000 seats.
