Only days after Georgia was named the No. 1 State to Do Business for the fourth straight year, Gov. Nathan Deal joined Atlanta Mayor Kasim Reed in another major business announcement. In a joint press conference Wednesday, they announced that United Parcel Service Inc. (UPS), a package delivery company headquartered in Atlanta, will create 1,250 jobs and invest more than $400 million to establish a regional sorting and distribution hub off Fulton Industrial Blvd.
The new hub, which will be located next door to Charlie Brown Airport, plans to focus on international packages and e-commerce packages.
