It’s election day (in Northwest Georgia)!  Five candidates are on the ballot in state Senate District 54 vying to replace Charlie Bethel, who stepped down upon being appointed to the Georgia Court of Appeals by Governor Nathan Deal last month.

The five will vie for the elusive 50%+1 of the vote, which if not met, (as seems likely) the top two contenders will move to a runoff on January 10th, just after the start of the 2017 legislative session.
