On Thursday, the Georgia Department of Education released the 2016 College and Career Ready Performance Index (CCRPI), based on data from the 2015-16 school year.

The CCRPI was developed to replace No Child Left Behind’s Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP) measure. Georgia is one of six states, plus Washington D.C. to receive a waiver from the U.S. Department of Education to allow them to forgo the requirements of the AYP in favor of state developed measurements. The Georgia system measures schools and districts on a 100-point scale based on a multitude of factors of performance. Scores on the states Milestones tests are the most important component.
