Questions and rumors of a resignation are swirling after state Rep. Gerald Greene, R-Cuthbert, was shot in the leg last Thursday in a parking lot behind a seedy pornographic entertainment center. Greene originally claimed he was at a nearby convenience/liquor store getting gas, when he was shot by a robber who took his cell phone. However, he said a large amount of cash which he was delivering for disaster relief was not stolen.
After that initial report that was released by the House speaker’s office, Greene later told CBS affiliate WRBL-TV of Columbus he actually was shot behind the Foxes Cinema “entertainment store.” Reporters from the TV station found fresh blood on the concrete behind the business, and the police report lists the Foxes Cinema address as the location where the shooting occurred.
