Editorial note: This is part one of a two-part series on the South Metro Development Outlook conference. This article will focus on the comments from Dr. Roger Tutterow, Director of the Econometric Center at Kennesaw State, and his thoughts on the economy in 2017
The 15th annual South Metro Development Outlook (SMDO) conference took place on Thursday at the Georgia International Convention Center in College Park. The conference has been the pet project of sorts of Michael Hightower, the Managing Partner and Founder of The Collaborative Firm, an urban planning, program management, engineering support and more firm based in south Atlanta.
Hightower and The Collaborative Firm established the SMDO “for the purpose of convening planning, development, finance, real estate and local government professionals with an interest in fostering smart growth in the South metro areas of Clayton, Coweta, Douglas, Fayette, Henry, Spalding, and South Fulton Counties, as well as the City of Atlanta. Since its inception, the forum has attracted more than 500 attendees annually.”
