The race for Georgia’s 6th Congressional District may have garnered national attention, but it’s not the only contest on the ballot in Cobb County on April 18th. An 8 person field is competing for the seat of former state Sen. Judson Hill, who vacated the position earlier this year to run for Congress.
There are five Republicans and three Democrats running in the heavily right-leaning district, where Republican Hill ran without any opposition in his previous three reelection campaigns. As in the Congressional race having such a large field seems likely to result in no candidate getting 50%+1 of the vote, thereby sending the top two vote-getters to a runoff on May 16th.
With less than a month to go before election day, let’s take a look at the candidates.
