Two candidates enter, one candidate leaves. After a rowdy primary featuring 18 candidates, Jon Ossoff and Karen Handel will now enter the runoff thunderdome. As of this writing, Ossoff was hovering around 48%, Handel at 20% and the Bob Gray, Judson Hill, Dan Moody trio all around 10%.

With Democrat support coalesced around him, Ossoff’s election night rally was packed with hundreds of people at the largest ballroom available at the Crowne Plaza in Dunwoody. With the mood and sound of a dance party, the crowd was filled with young people wearing Ossoff t-shirts and a massive amount of media. There were definitely a few folks from outside of the sixth district – energized Democrats from the fourth and fifth districts that had helped with the campaign and are hoping to steal the normally reliably Republican seat. Some big wig Democrats turned out for the party, including Atlanta mayoral candidates Vincent Fort and Caesar Mitchell. Alyssa Milano did not appear to be an attendee but the crowd did not seem to mind amid the celebratory atmosphere.
