The words “good news” and “rush hour” aren’t usually heard in the same sentence. However, Gov. Nathan Deal brought good news about Monday morning’s rush hour during a special announcement Wednesday.
“I have good news today. As of rush hour Monday morning, May 15, I-85 will be completed and open for traffic,” said Gov. Deal, surrounded by Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) Commissioner Russell McMurry and State Transportation Board Chairman Robert L. Brown Jr.
“And it could be sooner than that. This is an extraordinary short period of time to complete such a major project.”
