A much-needed conclave overlooked by much of the Georgia media occurred when the state Department of Education and the Georgia Partnership for Excellence in Education recently co-hosted a “Solutions Summit” to address the challenges faced by chronically underperforming schools.
The summit brought together over 150 stakeholders from invested groups – members of the education, business, policymaker and religious communities– that engaged in a frank discussion about the issues these failing schools face. Moreover, they developed a strategy for improvement.
