Georgia’s First Priority Act — passed during the last Legislative session– creates an advisory council to support the State Board of Education and the new Chief Turnaround Officer in their efforts to assist school systems in turning around perennially low performing schools.

The first two appointees were made recently when Lt. Governor Casey Cagle tabbed Kim Evans and Cassandra Washington as his appointments.
