The International Bridge, Tunnel and Turnpike Association (IBTTA), representing toll facility owners and operators and the businesses that serve them, will spotlight Georgia transportation during its upcoming International Mobility Connections 85th Annual Meeting & Exhibition slated for September 10-12 at the Atlanta Marriott Marquis.
The conclave will bring together a top-level list of Georgia elected leaders– including Gov. Nathan Deal, state and local officials– and also 700 transportation leaders from around the world. With Atlanta as a key backdrop, the IBTTA’s annual meeting will focus sessions on the future of mobility, including discussions featuring the state’s transportation challenges and opportunities, safety and security impacts and how mobility’s best practices are being shared across regional transportation hubs.
The meeting will be hosted by an IBTTA member, Georgia’s State Road & Tollway Authority, which is being honored as a “Toll Excellence Award” winner for its customer service and marketing outreach related to the authority’s Commuter Credits program. It is a three-pronged pilot program that focused on providing alternatives to travelling solo during the peak periods on Atlanta’s congested I-85 corridor.
Governor Deal will open Monday’s session. An all-star Monday afternoon roundtable features Georgia’s leading transportation agencies and officials discussing projects being implemented and the real-world impact on local citizen’s quality of life and the region’s economic development. The speakers are:
Doug Hooker, Executive Director, Atlanta Regional Commission
Christopher Tomlinson, Executive Director, State Road & Tollway Authority
Russell McMurry, Commissioner, Georgia Dept. of Transportation
Keith Parker, General Manager and CEO, Metro Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority
Roosevelt Council, Jr., Airport General Manager, Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport
