The Emory University Conference Center in Atlanta will be the site on Oct. 19 for the Georgia First Amendment Foundation’s annual Welter Freedom of Information Awards. Recipients this year are the Atlanta-based Carter Center’s Global Access to Information Program and the late Fulton County Superior Court Judge Stephanie Manis.
The Carter program works to improve governance and transform citizens’ lives worldwide by providing governments with actionable advice and technical assistance that increases transparency and helps citizens exercise their fundamental right to information.
