While nearly every metro Atlanta school district remains closed today along with most non-essential state government offices, it’s safe to say that Atlanta is playing it safe with this latest winter weather.

A dusting of snow coupled with an arctic blast that kept temperatures well below freezing all day yesterday had the city literally and figuratively frozen, with MARTA running an adjusted, limited schedule to accommodate those poor cold souls forced to head into work.

With warmer weather expected today though the state House and Senate are back in session, with 2:00pm and 1:30pm start times, respectively.

The Senate in particular, has a big day planned, with leadership scheduled to hold a press conference on House Bill 159, the adoption bill which has become the biggest story of the opening weeks of session due to the intra-party politics between GOP members.
