Atlanta police officers and airport employees tell InsiderAdvantage that there is an ever-growing, increasingly aggressive homeless population at Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport. This dovetails with recent Fox5Atlanta WAGA-TV stories by reporter Morse Diggs. One report notes that more homeless people— some with obvious sickness and open sores—are camping out on the floors and seats and are not be monitored and/or arrested, as they have in the past, by Atlanta police.

While the homeless cannot go through the security gates without a pass, that does not stop them from setting up camp across the North and South Terminals as well as the connecting Atrium, which was built as a respite for airline passengers.

Officers told Fox5Atlanta that men have used the airport floor as a toilet. One man who was totally naked defecated and then decided to lounge on airport furniture, according to police.

InsiderAdvantage is told that Atlanta Police Chief Erika Shields for some reason has recently adopted a more permissive policy toward the vagrants, even though passengers and visitors are complaining about being uncomfortable or even being harassed by these often-unsanitary miscreants who take up seats and the floor as their “home.”
