A water main break on Buford Highway in DeKalb County yesterday shut down the surrounding area and forced many local businesses and schools to close for the day for lack of water. Another infrastructure issue for the county isn’t a total shocker, but that news was compounded with the announcement that county Watershed Management director Scott Towler was resigning after alleging that DeKalb CEO Michael Thurmond had urged him to break several local and federal laws over the course of his job. Proposed Fulton Co. property tax hike
Fulton County homeowners let out a collective groan Monday following the announcement that property taxes will be increasing by more than 12% over the rollback millage rate. The hike, per the over the Fulton County Board of Commissioners, is to increase funding for the 2025 General Fund.
