This week a handful of Georgia business leaders launched goBeyondProfit, a philanthropic initiative that seeks to shine a light on the charitable acts made by companies statewide in an effort to encourage corporate generosity.

Funded by Jackson Healthcare, goBeyondProfit asks that Georgia businesses of all shapes and sizes sign the pledge to continue their philanthropic activities, and offers to shine a spotlight on companies that do so.  Led by a high profile lineup of inaugural ambassadors that includes Paul Bowers, chairman and CEO of Georgia Power, Rick Jackson, chairman and CEO of Jackson Healthcare, Bernie Marcus, co-founder of The Home Depot, and Eric Tanenblatt, principal and chair of Public Policy at Dentons, (among others) the group brings firepower and legitimacy to the operation in its first year.

Already more than 250 businesses have signed the pledge to ‘go beyond profit’ and give back to their local communities.

See Tanenblatt discuss the origins, mission, and importance of goBeyondProfit and corporate giving HERE.
