The Feb. 17th Georgia Gang begins with discussion of Gov. Brian Kemp’s proposal to seek Medicare waivers to reduce the healthcare burden cost for more Georgians. Debate then shifts to House Bill 316 which would implement new electronic voting machines with a printer that records a ballot and leaves a receipt for the voter which could later be audited during a recount. Another hot topic involves Attorney General Chris Carr bringing charges against former Atlanta Mayor Kasim Reed’s press secretary for violating the Open Records Act. The panel agrees it is warranted but Phil Kent and Lori Geary especially wonder why other former Reed officials aren’t charged. And don’t forget to check out our winners and losers of the week.
