Football may be the sport of choice for Georgia politicians, but this week it was the other kind that shined at the State Capitol.  Atlanta United, the 2018 MLS Cup Champions, were honored Thursday for their big win, and also passed was SB 8, sponsored by Sen. P.K. Martin (R-Lawrenceville), to create an Atlanta United license plate that will raise $10 per plate for the Atlanta United Foundation.  Furthermore the Senate Republican Caucus announced it will donate 40 soccer balls to the Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Atlanta as part of a deal with radio host Erick Erickson.  So while college football is still king, soccer in Georgia is most certainly RISING…
