Georgia’s military bases are far more important to their communities than most know. Robins Air Force Base outside of Macon is no exception, serving not only in its military capacity but also as one of the biggest economic drivers in the region. It is the single largest industrial complex in Georgia, employing a workforce of over 25,584 civilian, contractor, and military members.
21st Century Partners is an advocacy group that serves as a link between Robins and the Middle Georgia community, assisting with logistical issues such as hiring and training non-military workers on base, as well as working with local and state governments to help ensure the long-term viability of the installation.
Chrissy Miner, president and CEO of 21st Century Partners sat down with Georgia CEO this week to discuss the role her organization plays in helping RAFB, which in 2018 generated an economic impact of more than $3 billion and saw employment rise to an all-time high. See Miner’s interview below:
