A fiery debate on how to address two mass shootings & calls for changes to federal and/or state gun laws kick off the August 11th Georgia Gang. Another discussion ensues over what to do about e-scooters on Atlanta streets in the aftermath of rider deaths; the panel is divided on how to respond. Gov. Brian Kemp orders most state agencies to cut their budgets, but at the same time Phil Kent wonders why all too many special interest tax breaks are allowed. Tharon Johnson says he feels safe on Atlanta streets as the panel weighs on on Atlanta’s growing homeless & aggressive panhandling problem. But– finally– the panel is in agreement on the next steps to take regarding high levels of cancer-causing chemicals in the air from Georgia plants.
