As the debate over who should replace Johnny Isakson as Georgia’s next U.S. Senator raged over the weekend, one high-profile Congressman took a jab at Gov. Brian Kemp – who was quick to hit back. Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL-01) called on Kemp to choose Rep. Doug Collins (R-GA-09), a fellow key Trump-defender in Washington. With rumors swirling that Kemp was likely to pick Atlanta businesswoman Kelly Loeffler, (rumors which bore out Monday) he lashed out on Twitter, accusing the governor of “hurting President Trump” and positing, “maybe you need a primary in 2022.” Kemp said he didn’t care what outsiders thought, and his supporters were a bit more direct, slamming Gaetz and urging him (in less polite terms) to focus on his own state. Proposed Fulton Co. property tax hike
Fulton County homeowners let out a collective groan Monday following the announcement that property taxes will be increasing by more than 12% over the rollback millage rate. The hike, per the over the Fulton County Board of Commissioners, is to increase funding for the 2025 General Fund. The county will host three public meetings to discuss the plan with the public before the millage rate is set, but the likely tax hike has Fulton homeowners SINKING…
