State Sen. Brandon Beach, R-Alpharetta, pre-filed legislation requiring the state’s four research universities– the University of Georgia, Georgia Tech, Georgia State and Augusta — to offer at least 90 percent of early action admissions to Georgia resident students. Beach was motivated after a phone conversation with a University of Georgia official who said a whopping 41 percent of students recently accepted for early admissions live outside the state. Shouldn’t it be a bipartisan effort to have more Georgia young people educated in our state in order to have them to stay, work and raise families? Let’s hope support for Beach’s bill is RISING…
Falcons ranked 1st
The Atlanta Falcons have not made the playoffs since the 2017 season, an eon in football terms, but hope springs eternal for the franchise as it is projected to win its division behind new star quarterback Kirk Cousins and new Head Coach Raheem Morris. Whether that pairing bears fruit remains to be seen – but there is one aspect where the organization is ranked first in the league. That’s in average beer and hot dog prices, where Arthur Blank’s team rules the roost with a combined price of just $7.49 – roughly half of the league average! RISING…
