An Atlanta-based food supplier – Royal Food Service Co. Inc. – was announced Monday as having won a five year, $465 million federal contract to supply fresh fruits and vegetables to the U.S. Army, U.S. Navy and U.S. Department of Agriculture. U.S. Sen. Kelly Loeffler (R-GA), who announced the deal, called it “a win for many in Georgia.” A win indeed, as Georgia-grown produce will have a locked in supply line to help feed thousands of servicemen and women over the next five years.
