Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp has said repeatedly that testing is crucial in winning the battle against COVID-19. And starting this week, Georgia residents have a new way to get tested while preventing exposure. Instead of asking Georgians to travel to a testing site, Operation “Georgia: Know Your Status” is bringing the testing site to Georgia residents.

Operation “Georgia: Know Your Status” is a joint effort between 23 Consulting — an Atlanta-based consulting and legislative lobbying firm– luxury bus charter service Samson Tours and Dr. Damon Christian Kimes of Roswell Pain Surgical Center. The operation will utilize the 64-bus fleet from Samson Tours as mobile testing centers, which allows easy movement of testing staff and equipment. The large interior space of the buses allows for ample work space for the staff, as well as comfort for both the staff and those being tested.

The testing space will require no more than 10 minutes to be disinfected for the next job and the large luggage bays can be used for the storage of all types of equipment including generators, portable tents and other supplies. Also, the interior space of the coach can be customized to fit the needs of the operation, a spokesperson said.

“In 20 to 30 years from now we will be glad that we took an active role during this pandemic,” said Kimes, a pain management specialist leading the team at Roswell Pain Surgical Center. He is popularly known on Bravo Television Network’s reality television show ‘Married To Medicine.’

“While testing potential COVID-19 infection, it is critical to prevent exposure to the public,” Kimes added. “Therefore, instead of individuals traveling to testing centers, it is much better to take the testing centers to them.”

“Our model of mobile testing patients will be instrumental to getting Georgia open again,” said John Sambdman, Samson Tours CEO. “Unless we can get our food processors safely back to work, we risk a food shortage in a few months which could cause riots in densely populated cities. It is imperative that we can ensure a safe working environment for employees and customers.”

Bianca Thrasher-Starobin, President and Chief Executive Officer of 23 Consulting, LLC, said she was pleased to be part of this effort to help fight COVID-19 in Georgia.

“I am honored to be a part of the solution,” said Thrasher-Starobin. “The economy has to move forward and people have to feel safe. We encourage companies interested in keeping their employees safe to reach out to us to schedule a time for Operation ‘Georgia: Know Your Status’ to visit their location for mobile testing. We are also working with a number of government agencies in this effort.
