Atlanta City Council members, backed by radicals energized by demonstrations against the police, were recently defeated on an 8 to 7 vote to shift $73 million from the police budget into a “special account” to facilitate “reimagining” department policies. But insiders now say that, on Monday, Councilwoman Jennifer Ide will again present an amendment to defund the city’s police. Proposed Fulton Co. property tax hike
Fulton County homeowners let out a collective groan Monday following the announcement that property taxes will be increasing by more than 12% over the rollback millage rate.
