Mercer University theology professor Chanequa Walker-Barnes wrote a prayer in which she asks God to help her “hate white people”– specifically, “the nice ones,” such as “the Fox News-loving, Trump-supporting voters” who “don’t see color. … I want to stop caring about them, individually and collectively,” she prays in a just-published book. Walker-Barnes is an associate professor of practical theology at Mercer University, according to the school’s website. The Macon-based university, founded by Georgia Baptists, is obviously embarrassed. And the word is that Walker-Barnes will not be on the job after this semester. She’s SINKING…
Questions linger over Atlanta City Hall investigation
An ongoing investigation into former Atlanta Municipal Clerk Foris Webb III is hitting roadblocks, as city employees are delaying or rejecting interviews by the inspector general. Webb received more than $900,000 in consulting fees from the city for his “work” on a referendum meant to block the city’s law enforcement training center, dubbed “Cop City.” That referendum got held up in court, never wound up doing anything, and the center was built, but Webb continued to cash a $35,000 check each month.
