Despite co-sponsoring a bill last session that would have allowed Vinings residents in Cobb County the ability to vote for cityhood, state Rep. Erick Allen (D-Smyrna) has reversed course, now urging his fellow legislators not to support any of the county’s four cityhood movements until further studies can be completed on their impact on the county. There are proposed cities in Vinings, East Cobb, Lost Mountain, and Mableton, which if passed could see referendums on the ballot later in 2022. Proposed Fulton Co. property tax hike
Fulton County homeowners let out a collective groan Monday following the announcement that property taxes will be increasing by more than 12% over the rollback millage rate.
