Despite co-sponsoring a bill last session that would have allowed Vinings residents in Cobb County the ability to vote for cityhood, state Rep. Erick Allen (D-Smyrna) has reversed course, now urging his fellow legislators not to support any of the county’s four cityhood movements until further studies can be completed on their impact on the county. There are proposed cities in Vinings, East Cobb, Lost Mountain, and Mableton, which if passed could see referendums on the ballot later in 2022. ICE operation catches criminals
During the Biden administration illegal immigrants overwhelmed systems ranging from healthcare to schools. Illegal alien street gangs flourished. Now, though, Immigration and Customs Enforcement announced the results of an enhanced immigration enforcement operation throughout Georgia. “Operation Safe Community” yielded 1,226 immigration arrests in recent weeks. Of those individuals who snuck across our borders, 720 had been convicted or charged with crimes in the U.S. According to ICE, the criminal histories of the arrested aliens include sex crimes, crimes against children, aggravated assault, assault and battery, drug crimes, lewd and lascivious acts, weapons crimes and burglary.
