Despite co-sponsoring a bill last session that would have allowed Vinings residents in Cobb County the ability to vote for cityhood, state Rep. Erick Allen (D-Smyrna) has reversed course, now urging his fellow legislators not to support any of the county’s four cityhood movements until further studies can be completed on their impact on the county. There are proposed cities in Vinings, East Cobb, Lost Mountain, and Mableton, which if passed could see referendums on the ballot later in 2022. Former U.S. Attorney Bobby Christine has been called up by the Trump Administration once again, this time to serve as Judge Advocate General for the U.S. Army.
