One could make a convincing statistical case that Henry Louis Aaron was the greatest hitter in the history of baseball. That made it doubly poignant that Aaron was so genuinely moved Tuesday night when he was honored at Turner Field. It was the 40th anniversary of Aaron passing Babe Ruth in home runs. Seeing Aaron’s humility as he thanked the fans made one yearn for a simpler time, when home run kings proved their prowess with grit and class, instead of with steroids and an attitude. RISING
