The Amazon HQ2-to-Atlanta saga ended with a whimper this week as the tech giant announced it would be constructing its new headquarters in two locations – New York and Northern Virginia. Difficult news for Georgia’s top-rate economic development team, who spent months wooing the company. In the end it looks like they didn’t give Atlanta (or several other Southern candidates) much of a fair shake, but were seeing what tax breaks they could shake free before moving on with plan A. Proposed Fulton Co. property tax hike
Fulton County homeowners let out a collective groan Monday following the announcement that property taxes will be increasing by more than 12% over the rollback millage rate. The hike, per the over the Fulton County Board of Commissioners, is to increase funding for the 2025 General Fund.
