The latest in a long series of scandals and questionable decisions from the administration of former Atlanta Mayor Kasim Reed was unveiled Monday, as news broke that former First Lady Langford Reed had a 2016 car wreck in a city-owned vehicle swept under the rug. Langford Reed – who has since filed for divorce – was not a city employee nor authorized to driving a city vehicle when she wrecked the Ford Explorer in Midtown Atlanta, causing more than $16,000 in damages. That accident was never disclosed publicly, and observers are none to pleased that taxpayer dollars went to getting the vehicle fixed. Downtown Atlanta’s State Farm Arena is quite the box office draw. How big? From October to to March, State Farm brought in $76.2 million across 60 events, making it the third-highest grossing venue in the entire nation, behind only New York’s Madison Square Garden and the Sphere in Las Vegas, and fifth globally.
