The U.S. Department of Transportation recently released its list of 55 infrastructure projects nationwide slated to receive federal grants – and the Atlanta Beltline was not among them. Beltline officials had requested $16 million of Better Utilizing Investments to Leverage Development (BUILD) funding to build out the Southside portion of the trail, but for the second straight year their request was denied by the Trump administration. Downtown Atlanta’s State Farm Arena is quite the box office draw. How big? From October to to March, State Farm brought in $76.2 million across 60 events, making it the third-highest grossing venue in the entire nation, behind only New York’s Madison Square Garden and the Sphere in Las Vegas, and fifth globally.
