Ben Bryson, assistant director of Marshes of Glynn Libraries in Glynn County, paid a special visit to a local elementary school recently. He was delivering free library cards to every first-grader in school, the third straight year he has done so as part of an education initiative. He was also there to teach students about libraries, the books and other media available and answer questions about how they worked. Every student in attendance also received a free book, another part of the program designed to get more Glynn County students into reading at an early age – a key correlation to academic success.
