As this is written, Georgia’s statewide races for president and U.S. Senate cannot yet be called. Delays in reporting votes in Fulton and DeKalb Counties leave final results to be tallied later today. However, our InsiderAdvantage chairman Matt Towery– who has been polling the race and studying key precincts– believes President Donald Trump will carry Georgia even with Atlanta numbers still to come in.

While the final national result of the 2020 presidential election may not be known for days, one thing is for sure— that blue Democratic wave in Georgia never materialized.

Trump sat on a healthy lead for much of the night thanks to off-the-charts GOP turnout in most rural counties. Worth noting, Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger was not thrilled with the Democrat-run county delays in vote counting coming from metro Atlanta. And some Republican strongholds, including Forsyth and Bartow counties, also have outstanding votes.

The same story rings true for Sen. David Perdue, who holds a lead over challenger Jon Ossoff but with much of Democrat-heavy metro Atlanta left to count. That race can’t be called just yet. That contest, along with the two statewide Public Service Commissioner races, are polling a bit ahead of Trump’s numbers with a roughly six-point lead over Democratic opposition. So it would appear that GOP incumbents Jason Shaw and Lauren “Bubba” McDonald will keep their PSC seats.

Furthermore, at around 11:00pm U.S. Rep. Doug Collins conceded in the U.S. Senate special election, setting the stage for a January runoff between Sen. Kelly Loeffler and Democrat challenger Raphael Warnock. Expect a lot of eyes on that race— and a lot of money to be spent. Loeffler will be favored as GOP turnout historically tends to be better in runoffs. And Collins immediately endorsed Loeffler, urging Republican unity ahead of the January runoff.
