Chatham County officials are at odds over when to put a TSPLOST tax hike on the ballot. Originally it was supposed to go up for a vote in May during the primary election, but with former U.S. Sen. David Perdue entering the gubernatorial primary, Savannah’s (mostly Democrat) leaders are concerned that may drive out Republican voters and result in a loss for the TSPLOST. Georgia approves three-year bachelor’s degree
Georgia is joining a handful of other states in trying out a new three-year bachelor’s degree program meant to get students into the job market faster. The University System of Georgia’s Board of Regents has approved the Bachelor of Applied Science, which cuts down on electives and only requires 90 credit hours instead of the traditional 120.
