It’s not New York City, but the city of Statesboro in south Georgia is getting ready to unveil its new transit system to the public. Approved by voters five years ago as part of a T-SPLOST package, The Coastal Regional Commission will operate four mini-buses, hire eight drivers, and operate on two routes running north-south and east-west, with more covered bus stops planned. The project faced delays thanks to an automobile microchip shortage and some drama with the Georgia Department of Transportation over vehicle wraps, but is currently on schedule to roll out in early January.
