After a little prodding from Georgia lawmakers, the (back to back) national champion Georgia Bulldogs will finally get their long-awaited White House visit. COVID restrictions made the traditional visits tricky for a couple years, but pro teams including the Braves have made the trip recently. After UGA defensive lineman Warren Brinson wondered out loud on Twitter why the team hadn’t gotten an invite, politicians including AG Chris Carr started putting the pressure on, urging the Biden Administration to “step up.” And the pressure worked – the Dawgs will get their flowers at a date to be determined later this year. Dems post fundraising hauls
The 2026 governor’s race is just getting revved up, but a pair of Georgia Democrats are trying to establish themselves as early frontrunners. This week former Atlanta Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms announced that she’s raised $900,000 and lent herself another $200,000, while state Sen. Jason Esteves says his campaign has raised $1.1 million since he entered the race in April. A long (long) way to go yet, and new contenders could join the field, but these two Dems’ primary odds are RISING…
