Not just Georgians but millions of Americans watched yesterday’s riveting testimony during an evidentiary hearing in Fulton County Superior Court Judge Scott McAffee’s courtroom. The drama continues today and can be seen HERE

Legal commentators spanning the gamut from liberal Democrat attorneys to GOP lawyers agreed that an at-times visibly angry Fulton County DA Fani Willis, who is prosecuting former President Donald Trump and co-defendants on racketeering charges, had a bad day. (Even a commentator for the left-wing MSNBC network concurred with that assessment.)

Fulton Co. DA Fani Willis

Willis initially attempted to avoid taking the stand, but then pivoted and yesterday gave lengthy testimony. In fact, an irritated McAfee at one point cautioned Willis to answer questions and stop being argumentative, “or I’m going to have to strike your testimony.”

Willis and her special prosecutor/lover Nathan Wade both claimed their relationship began after he was hired and paid hundreds of thousands of taxpayer dollars, but a close friend of the DA and other witnesses flatly said that wasn’t true. (Remember that she met Wade before hiring him, and various people witnessed the romantic relationship, yet Willis and Wade claimed they had no intimate relationship until after he was on the case against Trump.)

Willis also claimed Wade was paid back in cash for all the trips they took together. Yet Wade didn’t have any proof of that, and he never deposited it.

Lt. Gov. Burt Jones issued a statement that perhaps best sums up what occurred: “What we saw today was startling. Inconsistencies compounded by even more questions about how taxpayer money was used.”

Court observers say a big question remains unanswered: Since another Fulton judge last year ruled that Trump ally Lt. Gov. Jones could not be prosecuted because of a blatant conflict-of-interest that occurred when Willis openly supported his 2022 Democrat election, why wouldn’t there be another conflict-of-interest now that Willis and Wade openly strategized via meetings with Trump’s Democrat opponents in the Biden administration?
