As the 2026 Georgia governor race heats up, the down ballot contests underneath it are beginning to take shape as well.  The first candidate to enter into the race to succeed Attorney General Chris Carr, who is running for governor himself, is state Sen. Brian Strickland, R-McDonough.  The attorney and  chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee will officially be allowed to start fundraising as soon as the legislative session ends late Friday night.  Expect more candidates to join him in short order, as the AG race is RISING…
