The City of Winder, in Barrow County, has a new claim to fame – the state’s best-tasting tap water!  A sample from the Highway 53 water treatment plant took home top marks in a district contest, then defeated water from 16 other utilities to win the statewide competition.  Winder’s water representatives will next travel to Denver for the American Water Works Association’s national competition, scheduled for June.  “Being named the best-tasting water in Georgia is something every resident of Winder can be proud of,” said Winder Mayor Jimmy Terrell. “Our water doesn’t just meet the highest standards—it stands out across the entire state.”
