The news that the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers was going to close down 20 parks at Lake Lanier starting Memorial Day Weekend infuriated many Georgians and sent politicians on both sides of the aisle scrambling.  Georgia’s U.S. Sens. Jon Ossoff and Raphael Warnock used the news to blast the Trump Administration, while Republicans whose districts cover parts of the lake lobbied the Corps to try to get the parks reopened.  Thanks to efforts from U.S. Rep. Rich McCormick and state Sen. Greg Dolezal, nine of the 20 parks will remain open.  Still a frustrating situation, but the work to keep at least some of the parks open has their lobbying push RISING…
