It was a particularly hot, dry late summer in Georgia, and farmers are worried that a ‘flash drought’ could have a negative impact on fall harvests.  Atlanta hasn’t seen more than 1/10 of an inch of rain in a month, and cities like Columbus and Macon have been in a similar dry spell.  That means it could be a rough harvest season for crops like cotton and peanuts.  Hopefully a cold front will bring some moisture along with it but the sudden drought has Peach State farmers SINKING…
