MacKenzie Scott, the ex-wife of Amazon co-founder Jeff Bezos, has been very generous with the massive fortune she took away from the pair’s divorce in 2019. A large portion of her philanthropy has been focused on Historically Black Colleges and Universities, and that total is set to grow. This week it was announced that Scott is donating $70 million to the UNCF (formerly known as the United Negro College Fund) and from that total $5 million will be given to each Georgia HBCU. Could Paramount be coming to Georgia?
Paramount Skydance, one of the biggest and most prominent entertainment companies in the world, is furious at its home state of California over a lawsuit filed by the state’s attorney general attempting to stop a merger. In response, Chair David Ellison has threatened to move from Los Angeles to a state not actively suing his company, and Georgia was on the shortlist of possibilities. Gov.
