The field of candidates for Georgia's 13th Congressional District seat keeps growing. So far, 11 candidates have announced their intent to challenge Democrat incumbent David Scott, who has held his position since 2003. Republican Peter Bourne is the latest to jump into the race.

According to his announcement, Bourne’s life is a “testament to service, discipline and faith.” He was born in New York City and joined the United States Navy at the age of 20. Bourne retired after 20 years of service but says his Navy career instilled in him “the values of integrity, accountability, and perseverance — qualities he now seeks to bring to Washington.”
